Chapter 10.25-27

maharsīnām bhrguraham girām asmyekam aksaram |

yajñānām japayajño 'smi sthāvarānām himālayah ||10.25||

Among the sages I am Bhrgu; among the words I am the single syllable Om; among the rituals I am the ritual of japa (repetition of mantra), and among the mountains, I am the Himalayas.


aśvatthah sarvavrksānām devarsīnām ca nāradah |

gandharvānām citrarathah siddānām kapilo munih ||10.26||

I am the sacred ficus tree among all the trees; among the celestial sages I am Nārada; among the gandharvas (heavenly artists) I am Citraratha, and among the siddhas (who are accomplished) I am the sage Kapila.


uccaihśravasam aśvānām viddhi mām amrtodbhavam |

airāvatam gajendrānām narānām ca narādhipam ||10.27||

Among the horses may you know Me as Ucchaihśravas, and among the elephants as Airāvata, (both) born of the churning for nectar, and I am the king among men.
